Daniel Bernier

Executive Director  

Secretariat for the Commission for Labor Cooperation in Washington, D.C.

He was the Director of Research with Summa Strategies of Canada for almost two years. 

Mr. Bernier has 15 years experience with various employers in the corporate sector, national associations and at various levels of government.

Mr. Bernier has a strong background in policy development in and possesses an extensive understanding of the decision-making process at both the federal and provincial levels of government.  Mr. Bernier is familiar with key areas of government policy including: natural resources, the environment, and international trade.

Before joining the Commission for Labor Cooperation, Mr. Bernier served in Ottawa as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Environment; Executive Assistant and Policy Advisor to the International Trade Critic; and Special Assistant to the Minister of International Trade and Fisheries and Oceans.  At the provincial level, he acted as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Tourism of Quebec.
